Rest in Peace Stevie!

It is with deep sadness that i announce that my dearest son Steven has passed on, the night of 29th of July 2015! No words can describe my feelings! As a family we are so heartbroken, so sad, we loved you so much, but God loved you more and wanted to be with you! We pray for you, and we will miss you forever! Its hard for us to comprehend why it had to be you, but anyway we accept that God has a good plan for all of us! Rest in Peace our son, and brother to Vanessa and Edwin who are so heartbroken that they can not stop weeping and mourning for you! Rest in Peace Stevie! Your father misses you terribly! Rest in Peace Stevie cause i know you did no wrong to any human being! Your love to us will be missed, your hugs will be missed terribly and your laughs will always be missed by all of us! Rest in Peace Stevie!

Autism day care centre - ACCESS - One fine day at school!

New Student, we love her!

The day care registered a new student to the centre, she is a delight to work with, eager to learn as she has high-function autism and can understand all that she is taught. She has been receiving and doing home-work and she is happy to come daily to the centre.

Risperdal and Gynacomastia

When visiting the USA recently, i was surprised to see on TV that any one who has used Risperdal and seen signs of gynacomastia should report to be compensated. This struck a cord because my son has developed gynacomastia after using risperdal for 4 years. The drug was excellent in 'calming' him and therefore facilitated some of the learning he achieved, however the side effects were tremendous including excessive weight gain, diabetic-like symptoms such as excessive urination and increased appetite. After stopping the drug however some of the symptoms disappeared but excessive weight and gynacomastia are still there. I live in Tanzania so i know that compensation would be difficult! Anyway sometimes as parents we do face the difficult decision of 'risks versus benefits' and i am so sad of what has happened, the weight was so much until he had to be operated on one of his knee! Seriously i wish they would compensate some of us - who do not live in the US.
