Autism Awareness and Progress Still a Challenge?
My interest in this condition is to be able to understand the magnitude of the problem especially in Tanzania. Up to now we are not sure of the extent of this situation. After this understanding designed interventions to create awareness is necessary especially to the general population to reduce stigma to our children with autism. Acceptance of autism is critical as people think that mental conditions are a result of something bad that was done by the parents or ancestors that has brought the situation. AUTISM IS A DISABILITY OF THE MIND THAT CAN BE SUPPORTED TO IMPROVE THE QUALITY OF LIFE AND ACCEPTANCY OF THIS IS KEY! LET US ALL WORK TOGETHER TO ADDRESS UNTOWARD BEHAVIOR TO AUTISM, THEY DESERVE BETTER!

New teachers at the Day Care
I am so happy to welcome our new teachers from Tanga Lutheran University who have specialized education in training autistic and those with impaired hearing. Rehema and Lucy have managed to assist the children and supported their day to day training. Welcome!
I would also like to welcome any other interested teachers to work with us or advise us on how to support these children! Use (skmwita@gmail.com) for contacting me!
